Lots of GOOD things happening here!!!

New Elders in Gisborne
Elder Killingbeck, Elder Hibbard, Elder Mayer, and Elder Petty
(rain drops in the picture!)

Mark West's Baptism
Caleb West (on the right) has been home from his mission for a couple of months.
His brother, Mark, has never been baptized.  Their mother is a non member.
We have been visiting her, and trying to soften her up a bit.
Mark's baptism was awesome!
His brother baptized him.  We were sad that his mom didn't come.
She is kind of bitter about the whole thing, but I thought she would come support him:(

Elder Gubler, Mark, Caleb, Big Mark (his dad) and Tom Stone
Mark loves Lonne....everyone does! :)
They wanted me to jump in to the picture:)
 Sister Brunt and Sister Solomon
Sister Solomon is a new member.  She was baptized a few weeks ago.
Sister Brunt was baptized about 18 months ago.
They are both SWEET girls!

Mike and Wade
Mike is a less active, but starting to come back!!!
We were so happy to see him at the baptism!
Wade is a new member (Melissa Brunt's husband)
Wade is such a good missionary!! He loves sharing the gospel with people!!
He invited us over for a family home evening a couple of weeks ago.
He had also invited his non member friend from work.
We had a great lesson! The guy is very interested, and we can't wait to teach him
more when he gets home from Australia!!

 Two of our new elders..
Elder Killingbeck from Utah
Elder Hibbard from Washington

A Long-Awaited Baptism!

We've been waiting for this day for a LONG time!!!
Kathryn, Christina, and Niko's baptism!
Mahe is a member (Tongan)
He and Kath have been together for 11 years but weren't married.
We started teaching this family when we first got here.
Kath had been taught by several sets of missionaries, but never baptized.
We had to get them married first!
It's a long story, but to make a long story short..
Kath leaned over in sacrament one day and said," Mahe said we can get married!"
She told me that something we had said had finally hit home with him and he was ready
to make changes in his life so HE could baptize his family! We were sooo excited!
So....last June, they finally took the big step of marriage!
They were married in their front room, by our bishop.
They didn't invite anyone to witness the wedding except for us.
We were honored.  We finally  had their baptism on October 21st..
It was absolutely beautiful!
Lonne and Tom Stone were the speakers and they did a great job.
Most of Kath's family was there to witness the baptism...none of them are members.
We thought the meeting was wonderful, and hope they felt the spirit.
Kath was asked to bear her testimony in sacrament today.  It was so sweet!
I'm so glad we have had a part in re-activating and baptizing this family!

We had a little dinner after the baptism

This is Mahe's nephew....he is so darling! I love his eyes!

The Lauti family is another reason we were sent to Gisborne!
We love them and are so happy for them!
Now...we're setting our sights on the temple:)
