How did we get so lucky to serve our mission in New Zealand??
We have met some of the most awesome people... in the most beautiful place on earth!
These are our newest friends...the French Family.
Hoani, Peter, Aroha, and Nina.
We just met them last week. They live right on Lake Taupo.
We hit it off with these guys right from the start.
Nina, Hoani and Peter were baptized last year.
Aroha will be baptized before we go home if we have anything to say about it!! lol
What a fun family!
I love to bake cookies and goodies to take around to people.
We made Valentine Cookies to take to some of the families we visit.
Valentines is just about non-existent in New Zealand....(like every holiday!) lol
I think we over do it WAY too much in America!
We love this "low-key" life style.
We are serving in a BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!!
We took a little Day Trip on Pday with the Burts from Gisborne.
The Burts came to Taupo to visit us, but when it was time for them to leave, we were
packing out suitcase to go with them to the "Bach" (lake house) they had rented at Lake Rotoiti!
Lake Rotoiti is just an hour away, and we had the day off, so they didn't have to ask us twice!
Lonne and Peter Burt fished all till about 10:00 P.M.
Lonne finally caught some BIG trout!!
They were beautiful!

Lake Rotoiti is the most awesome place!
It feels like you've stepped back in time about 50 years.
Each Bach has it's own little dock and ramp into the lake.
The lake literally looks like a post card!
There are lakes like this all over the place!!
Peter grilled our trout in the oven with onions and tomatoes on top...
it was DELICIOUS!!! (And I usually don't like trout that much!)
I was glad to learn a new way to cook Trout and Salmon!!
The next morning, was a beautiful day on the lake, but the guys didn't catch a thing!
Frances and I had a great time visiting and relaxing back at the Bach.
The water is crystal clear! No wonder the fish taste so good!!
We stopped in Rotorua to see the Geyser...
it's a small version of Old Faithful at Yellowstone.
Rororua and Lake Taupo remind me of the Yellowstone/Jackson Hole area.
It's weird that they both have hot pools, and bubbling mud etc....
It kind of freaks me out to see all the stuff that is going on under ground....
right under the town where we live!! It looks like it could blow up at any moment!

It was pretty cool.
We have lots of these in Taupo, too.
It felt so good to get away for the day.....
We definitely have the best of both worlds here in New Zealand!

The missionary work has been awesome, with tons of success...

We are glad to hear things are looking up in Taupo. So many fun pictures. I have to say I wish you could bring us some of your Valentines Cookies! They look delish! We can't believe we will get to hug and kiss you in just a few short months. It really doesn't seem like it has been almost 18 months..... but when we don't live close to home, and we don't see you very much it probably goes by A LOT faster! Miss and Love you guys! XoXo
