Makin' the Rounds...

This is Janet and Chris....We have been visiting them ever since we got to Gisborne.  They are always so happy to see us when we drop in to visit them.  We were intrigued with the bush behind us...it is a HUGE Poinsettia! It's just starting to bloom.  They didn't even know what it was...When we asked if we could take a picture by their plant, hey laughed and asked us, "What's so cool about this bush?"
They don't use Poinsettias over here at Christmas time...because Christmas is in the middle of the summer for them! I am having such a hard time adjusting to the opposite seasons!!!
When we go walking/running on the walking trail in Gisborne, we always walk by a little Pre-School by the River.  The ducks wait for the little kids to come outside to play so they can get some food!

This is GRUMPY goose and his "Wife"!! I've already posted a picture of these guys, but we had our camera today, so I took another pic of the mean little guy! He protects his little wife from the runners/walkers...he hisses at us every day, and puts his head down like he's going to attack us! I am seriously scared to death of this innocent looking bird!
But, I really think it's cute how he protects his woman! It's hysterical!
CJ, one of our recent converts....all dressed up for a Young Men activity. He thinks Elder Gubler is pretty cool! Ha!  His older sister wants to come to America so she can "ride one of those yellow school buses"! She also wants to see a cheerleader! They don't have yellow buses or cheerleaders in NZ.

My sweet little buddies...Hayley and Skye (CJ's little brother and sister)
It's so fun to see the difference the gospel has made in this family's lives! We have been here from day one, teaching them from the beginning, then the baptism, and now seeing the blessings the gospel can bring to families.  Wendy, their mother, is a single mom, trying her best to do what's right for her family.
The kids are THRIVING in Young Mens, Young Womens, and Primary.  They LOVE it!
So fun to sit back and watch.....
YAY! Another baptism this week!
Elder Fiu and Elder Webb had a baptism! We haven't been in on the lessons, but to see how these kids love these Elders is priceless! There's nothing prettier than dark skin, with white clothing, coming up out of the waters of baptism! LOVE IT!!

Nancy it was soooo fun to talk to you yesterday! It was just like you were down the street from me! The fishing looks fun, I'm glad Lonne was able to do that. Dan and Ern are just about packed and ready to come so let us know all the info when you get it. Thanks so much for remembering me on my birthday! I miss you!
